CTA Efforts Result in the Start of a Health and Safety Committee

After receiving complaints regarding health and safety, the CTA leadership brought this to the attention of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools through discussion and in written correspondence. As a result, the District has agreed to start the required Health and Safety Committee and is soliciting members from each bargaining unit.

The start of the Health and Safety Committee immediately preceeds the visit to Connetquot School District by representatives from the New York State Committee on Safety and Health (NYCOSH) and New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). They will be visiting schools where teachers have expressed health and safety concerns.
